Following the decision by the Conservative Cambridgeshire County Council to remove the last element of its own subsidy to the Cambridgeshire Music Service in the budget in February, we the undersigned would politely request that the county council undertakes to ensure that any money coming to the county from central government for music provision should be made available to the Cambridgeshire Music Service and not used for other cultural provision.
The Cambridgeshire Music Service has given enormous opportunities to children and young people across the county for many years, and its area academies and orchestra are worthy of support.
Even if you've already signed this petition, you can use the printable petition sheet to collect more signatures from your friends and neighbours.
You could go door to door on your street or pass the sheet around at a local event. Good places to leave a few copies include shops, pubs, libraries, and post offices - but don't forget to collect them and send them back to us.
When complete, please return (as soon as possible) to: Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrats, Save Cambridgeshire Music Service, FREEPOST, Cambridge Liberal Democrats, 16, Signet Court, Swann Road, Cambridge, CB5 8LA.
